Snowy Village Victoria brings a focused twist to the casual dessert scene along Shelbourne Street, specializing in Korean-style shaved ice—known as bingsoo—that locals seem to appreciate especially on warmer afternoons or as a refreshing treat after a meal. This spot isn't your typical dessert café; it’s a streamlined operation where the owner often manages the front, lending a welcoming and personal touch to the experience.

The atmosphere here is calm and friendly, suited for low-key visits whether you’re dropping in solo for an iced coffee or sharing a large Bingsoo with a friend or partner. The interior feels modest and unpretentious, keeping the spotlight on the vibrant, generously portioned desserts.

The menu centers on a variety of shaved ice offerings topped with fresh fruit, cheesecake cubes, and other distinctive elements like Oreo crumbs or brown sugar drizzle—though stock can run low on certain toppings, the overall quality remains consistent. Standouts include the large Oreo Snow Ice Bingsu and the Watermelon Bingsu, which is both refreshing and visually appealing. Their Taiyaki, a waffle-like fish-shaped pastry often filled with Nutella here, pairs nicely as a complementary snack alongside the icy treats.

Visitors tend to share portions due to their size, making it a social spot whether it’s a casual date or a quick catch-up. The bingsoo’s texture is notably light and powdery, less dense than traditional ice cream, allowing for a satisfying yet not overwhelming sweetness. This makes it easy to enjoy a big bowl without feeling overly rich.

For those who prefer something less icy, the Cheesecake Shaved Ice offers a creamier alternative, integrating cheesecake chunks that add texture and flavor complexity. Alongside the desserts, simple iced coffees and teas provide a cool sip, rounding out the menu with approachable options for any time of day.

Snowy Village comfortably fits into the neighborhood as a dessert destination that’s affordable—often priced below other regional competitors—and approachable, with polite and attentive service helping to create a relaxed vibe. It’s best visited during quieter afternoon hours when the owner can engage more personally with guests, making it as much about friendly hospitality as about satisfying a sweet craving.

It was delicious dessert, my husband and I enjoyed it. Saw someone having watermelon bingso and he said it was really good my eyes went big. The owner was very polite and friendly to everybody. Will definitely comeback! Got take out for mom too.

I tried brown sugar and cheese cake bingsoo and they are good. I liked the cheese cake bingsoo better than the brown sugar bingoo because of the cheesecake cubes in it. The portions are really big. More than enough for 2 people sharing. The lady at the counter is very polite and sweet!

Amazing customer service! She was so sweet and helpful. We got watermelon bingsoo and Nutella taiyaki. It was amazing! The watermelon was delicious and refreshing. Definitely recommend checking out, very calm atmosphere. 10/10.

So a cute place, the Bingsoo is so incredible. I love the texture - it's like eating powder snow, and because it's not so rich like ice cream you can eat lots! We tried the chocolate and strawberry - the cheesecake topping is delicious, fruit is fresh. The lady was very lovely and friendly. Worth the wait for these little masterpieces. Would be a great date to come and share one of the big ones.

Oreo bingsoo was great. Think the lady was running out of blueberry drizzle for the blueberry bingsoo, but still tasted good. She was operating the whole establishment by herself. Very much appreciated the effort. Had a hilarious chat about us both being from Alberta. Prices very affordable: I swear cheaper than the Richmond location. Only around $12. The ginger herbal tea was great for my stuffy nose during the rain. Would definitely comeback and recommend. Location had a minimalist vibe. Owner puts a lot of effort into.

I highly recommend this place- the presentation is great, the service is lovely, and the taste is not to sweet, but just right for my taste buds. I had the Injeolmi flavored dessert (first photo), with the rice cakes. So delicious! Unfortunately the lovely desserts take time to make, and orders were coming in so quick before closing that the worker (working solo) had to stop orders an hour before closing. Take out orders were ringing, and a line up was forming, all just before that final hour. It also didn't help that we were a group of 5, and we wanted each a dessert, and some sort of Taiyaki (dessert pastry with various typws of filling). The worker stayed calm and continued to work to fill orders. Thankfully us customers were patiently waiting for our desserts. It was worth the wait. Definitely going to give another try on another day to see if wait times are consistent.

Seating capacity is very limited and that’s never discouraged me. I’m the kind of person that would order and eat it outside standing haha. It's a very busy place and items can run out very fast. Luckily they had the mango bingsoo and the taiyaki. The dessert is very refreshing and delicious, not overly sweet. The taiyaki is yummy. Overall it's a great experience and I would love to try other items on the menu. Prices are a bit steep but judging the demographics of this area, people are willing to spend if it's good. If I’m in Victoria again I’ll definitely come back.
